How It Works
Voting on DabbuVote works differently depending on the type of event — here's both flows.
Voting in a competition or awards event
Browse events and open the one you want to vote in.
Choose your category and candidate.
Enter how many votes you'd like to cast (for paid events, unlimited votes can be purchased).
Pay by mobile money, card, or bank transfer — or vote for free where the organiser allows it.
Your votes are recorded the moment payment is confirmed, and you'll see an on-screen confirmation.
Voting via USSD
No smartphone or internet connection is required. Dial the event's USSD short code, follow the on-screen menu to choose your event, category, and candidate, and confirm your mobile money payment when prompted.
Voting in a formal election (e.g. student council)
Your school or organisation registers you as an eligible voter ahead of time.
On election day, you check in at your assigned polling station.
An election official verifies your identity and eligibility.
You're handed a one-time voting authorization and move to the voting station.
You cast your ballot privately — your identity is never linked to your specific selections.
