Voting Help / FAQ

Do I need an account to vote?

No. For public competitions and awards, you can vote without creating an account — just choose a candidate, enter your phone number, and pay if the event requires it. Formal elections (like student council elections) require you to be pre-registered as an eligible voter by the organising institution.

How many votes can I cast?

It depends on the event. Paid competitions typically allow unlimited votes — you can purchase as many as you like. Formal one-person-one-vote elections allow exactly one vote per eligible voter, enforced at the polling station.

What payment methods are supported?

Mobile money (MTN Mobile Money, Telecel Cash, AirtelTigo Money), bank cards, and bank transfer, depending on which methods the event organiser has enabled.

My payment went through but my vote didn't count. What happened?

Votes are only allocated once payment is confirmed by the payment provider, which can occasionally take a minute. If your vote still hasn't appeared after a few minutes, contact us with your payment reference and we'll investigate.

Can I get a refund?

Votes are generally non-refundable once cast, since they've already been counted toward a candidate. In cases of a genuine payment error (double charge, wrong amount), contact us and we'll review it.

Is my vote in a formal election secret?

Yes. For formal elections, the system can confirm that you voted without ever exposing who you voted for to election administrators, organisers, or anyone else. Your identity and your ballot selections are never linked in any report, export, or record accessible to staff.

I'm having trouble voting via USSD. What should I do?

Make sure you're dialing the correct short code for the specific event, and that you have sufficient mobile money balance if the event requires payment. If the session times out, simply dial in again.
